Sissieretta Jones

Stages of Freedom presents Providence actress and vocalist, Becky Bass as Sissieretta Jones, the nation's first Black opera superstar who grew up in Providence. This one-woman show takes you into the life and songs of the highest paid Black performer of her day who toured the world, sang for four U.S. presidents, and formed a Vaudeville company. Prospect Terrace is near the home where she lived.
