RISD Nature Lab

The Edna W. Lawrence Nature Lab @ RISD is a remarkable hands-on collection of 80,000 specimens from the natural world gathered to support the creativity of artists and designers. Founded in 1937, the Nature Lab was built upon the collection of Edna Lawrence, a RISD faculty member who spent summers collecting specimens from across the country for students in her drawing classes. Their web site has some incredible material including imagery of their collections and 3D models of specimens. Their virtual speaker series -- Regeneration -- is happening through May 2021.
