Providence Pedestrian Bridge

The Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge -- or the Pedestrian Bridge as many call it -- offers wonderful views of our city, a great spot for events and recreation and connects the East Side to the Jewelry District in a new way. Built on piers left from the former location of I-195, the bridge is 450 feet long. You can see some stunning photography of the bridge from INFORM Studio, the project's architects. In July 2020 the bridge was dedicated in memory of Providence resident Michael Van Leesten. The bridge has its own Facebook Page and is where recently Richard proposed to Joanne. On October 15th stop by for the last of the season's Food Truck Friday + PVD Guild Beer Garden events!
