Great New England Hurricane of 1938

Have you noticed the plaques downtown marking the Great New England Hurricane of 1938? The event is marked on our buildings and the minds of anyone who lived through it. After the '38 hurricane and Hurricane Carol, the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier was built to protect the city.
